Michael Bay Says 'Transformers: The Last Knight' Is His Last 'Transformers' Movie

Transformers The Last Knight
With just a couple more days before the release of the highly anticipated "Transformers: The Last Knight", it came as a surprise when the two main men of the franchise announced their departure from the multi-million dollar title.
While speaking with Fandango, Michael Bay confirmed Transformers: The Last Knight is his final Optimus Prime rodeo. "I look like my mum in the '70s - it's just really bad!" He dished, "Anthony Hopkins and I were trying to have dinner 'cause he, he lives in Malibu and we had such a great time together and got along so well. I think I've had a good run, and I've got a lot of other movies I want to do". Michael Bay is now saying that after Transformers: The Last Knight, he is officially done with the franchise and is moving on to different things. This isn't the first time Bay has attempted to leave the Transformers franchise, only to be pulled back in. The film hits theaters on June 21st, 2017.
While he said he truly enjoyed working on the "Transformers" universe, he also felt like he needed to do other movies as well.
Here's a synopsis: The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Then Bay, executive producer Steven Spielberg, and writer/producer Akiva Goldsman assembled a writers room to plan out where the Transformers can go in the future, including spinoff films.
To save the world, Wahlberg's character Cade Yeager forms an alliance with TransformerBumblebee and Haddock's Oxford University professor Viviane Wembly to learn the secrets of why the Transformers keep returning to Earth.
Transformers: The Last Knight could probably be the best title by far going by its sheer hype. Only one world will survive: "theirs, or ours".
