Jaitley to Call at House of RSS Karyavah Rajesh on Aug. 6

Kannur meeting

It is learnt that Hosabale, along with top RSS leaders Suresh "Bhaiyyaji" Joshi and Krishn Gopal had met BJP president Amit Shah before holding the press conference.

K Muraleedharan of the Congress, who gave the notice for an adjournment motion said at least 18 political murders had happened in the state since the LDF assumed power.

On the other hand, in a statement issued earlier, the CPI (M), took on the saffron party, as it said, "The BJP leadership is indulging in doublespeak on the clashes between CPI-M and BJP-RSS workers in Thiruvananthapuram district in Kerala". The commission also directed the state government to take necessary steps to stop incidents of lynching.

CPM secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan sees a political motive behind Arun Jaitley's visit to the home of slain RSS leader S. L. Rajesh.

After meeting Rajesh's family members, Jaitley censured the brutal attack while addressing a meet and said that even an "enemy of a country doesn't do this".

Jaitley paid a visit to the relatives of Rajesh, an RSS activist who was killed in the state recently, here yesterday morning.

In the latest war of words between Bharatiya Janata Party and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh on one side and the Left parties on the other, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley blamed the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Kerala for the political violence in the state, and accused it of using its workers to eliminate rival party workers. Governments, he said, are elected to "improve the quality of life of people" but Kerala had been witnessing "an ongoing saga of violence". The union minister's statement came on a day Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan chaired an all-party meeting to discuss developments in the aftermath of the killing.

The state BJP office was vandalised on 28 July. Only a few weeks ago, a CPI (M) activist called Sreejan Babu was attacked by nine masked men, leaving him severely wounded.

Jaitley has come down heavily on the spree of violence against RSS-BJP members, which the Right-wing have been claiming as the handiwork of the Left cadre supported by the state government and perpetrated by the connivance of local police.

"The game plan is clear - resort to provocative actions and uncalled for physical assaults against CPI-M workers and then cry that the CPI-M is resorting to violence and also blame the Kerala government for not stopping such attacks", the CPI-M said.

He even requested the Chief Minister to curb the political violence in the state and said, "I expect that the political violence in Kerala is curbed and that the perpetrators are brought to justice expeditiously".
