Branden Albert changes mind about retiring, wants to return to Jaguars

Report | Branden Albert will join Jaguars and not retire
But after only three practices in four days Albert abruptly chose to retire.
There's a chance the Miami Dolphins might receive that 2018 seventh-round pick they got from the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for Branden Albert after all. Part of the issue was a contract dispute, and part of it was that Albert simply didn't seem to want to be a Jaguar. They need the offensive line depth even if Albert doesn't start, and it would be disastrous for the Jaguars to cut him only to see the former Pro Bowl tackle block proficiently for another team.
On Monday, August 7, team officials met with Albert and mutually agreed to place him on the club's reserve/retired list. Though they did attempt to find a stop gap veteran in Branden Albert for the left tackle situation and in addition to landing Cam Robinson in the draft, it simply wasn't enough.
At the moment it's not clear why Alert chose to walk away after nine National Football League seasons or why he has suddenly changed his mind.
It's equally unclear why Albert wants to return.
The Jaguars, who are holding joint practices with the Patriots in New England, declined comment on the situation Monday.
While the best course of action here for the Jaguars in terms of culture is to cut Albert since he's already twice chosen to skip practices, it would behoove the Jaguars to keep him. He also is subject to fines of up to $40,000 per day for the time he was not with the team, according to NFL.com.
Albert signed a five-year deal with the Miami Dolphins prior to the 2014 season.
His career began when he was taken with the 15th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs out of the University of Virginia.
Upon finding out he had to give that cash back I can just imagine Albert's reaction...
