PS4 Firmware Update 5.0 to Reportedly Add 1080p 60fps Twitch Streaming Support

PS4 Update 5.0 Reportedly Includes Improved Account Following, 1080p/60fps Twitch Streaming on PS4 Pro
PlayStation 4 firmware update 5.0 isn't out the wild yet but information on it has been come out ahead of time.
There will be an expanded range of options for those with sub/child accounts on their consoles.
As well, PS4 owners will soon get Xbox One-like functionality in the form of being able to follow any user's account. This will allow each sub/child account to have different communication, content-viewing and spending limit privileges. Now you can do this just for verified accounts of note, such as the official accounts for games, and some individual developers and YouTubers.
Players will have the ability to block users, as well as the option to choose whether or not they want anyone or just existing friends to be able to follow their account.
The PlayStation 4 next big system update, update 5.0, is going to introduce plenty of new features which will make sharing of content and interactions better than ever, according to a fresh report.
One small but handy change is that system notifications will now be visible from the Quick Menu, so you don't need to return to the Home screen each time.
This way folks won't have to send a friend request to be verified, and it won't affect friend limits.
The headline feature for streamers is that you can now stream at 1080p60 to Twitch if you have a PlayStation 4 Pro, which simply latches onto what's already possible via Remote Play and Share Play.
In a small but welcome change, notifications and upload/download statuses can be seen from the Quick Menu that's accessed by holding the PlayStation button.
Behind-the-scenes support for bundle and compilation discs, with or without add-ons, and discs which support games and add-ons (such as a "Game of the Year Edition"), which do not require developers rework any code.
Expect 5.00 sometime in the near future alongside an overhauled PlayStation App that isn't quite as useless as it now is.
