U.S. Sen. Ed Markey, who has backed legislation to require Congressional approval before a president could launch a preemptive nuclear strike, tweeted last night, "No U.S. President, certainly not Trump, should have sole authority to initiate an unprovoked #nuclearwar".

President Donald Trump's daily pronouncements typically are greeted by most Americans with a mixture of sarcasm and humor.

However, according to an article in the Boston Globe, quoting an expert in the realm of presidential power, Trump has nearly "unchecked authority to order the use of conventional or nuclear weapons against North Korea".

He urged the delegation to support HR 1987, the Oversight Commission on Presidential Capacity Act, writing that "serious crises are bearing down on us".

While saying the president should "back off" his rhetoric a bit, Kennedy advocated a clear message to the North Korean dictator.

Apparently, Kim Jong Un supposedly has an arsenal of nuclear weapons, and President Donald Trump seems to be teasing an global conflict.

"Look North Korea, leave Guam out of this!" he exclaimed. "The United States, we sanction a lot of other countries, OK? You're going to get us all killed!" "And as I said, they will be met with fire, fury and, frankly, power, the likes of which this world has never seen before".

"They count on me to be a straight shooter with a calm voice", he said to start his monologue Tuesday.

"In the case of North Korea, God has given Trump authority to take out Kim Jong Un", he said. "He (Kim Jong-un) has been very threatening, beyond a normal statement". Chances are, he doesn't want to live in one.
