Jurgen Klopp does not want to lose Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona

At 1pm on Friday Sky Sports News revealed Coutinho had handed in a transfer request, with Liverpool confirming they had received, and rejected, the request an hour later.

"I can say something that is maybe more important", Klopp said at a Press conference.

"The club's definitive stance is that no offers for Philippe will be considered and he will remain a member of Liverpool Football Club when the summer window closes", the FSG statement read, issued prior to Coutinho's transfer request. If bosses decide, for example, we sell a player then I have to accept it. "If he doesn't come now, we're never coming back for him ever again.' So they're piling the pressure on and that's why Philippe's reacted", he told BT Sport.

"I can not really say a lot about it", he said.

After quiet start, Liverpool leveled matters with the first chance in the 28th minute as Emre Can played in Sadio Mane, who slotted into the far corner from close range.

The Anfield club were 3-2 ahead going into injury time but showed their fragility as they allowed Miguel Britos to strike, conceding a goal from a set piece for the second time in the game.

Senegal global Mane equalised for Liverpool in the 29th minute after a delightful interchange with Emre Can before unleashing a shot to the top-right hand corner.

"You'll have to ask the club".

"I think it (Watford) will be tough, but everybody is looking forward to it, everybody will be at 100 per cent and on fire for the season. But I don't think so because I think it was pretty clear what the club, FSG, said about it". It'll be a busy one, as Liverpool has earned a Champions League bid for the first time in his tenure. "Of course we knew it before but after this game we have a lot of things to do", Klopp added. They passed the ball in our box, we defended the first time but then struck the ball against our own legs so that makes it a little bit unlucky.

Asked if Coutinho had let down his team mates with his request, Klopp said: "I am not part of the discussion with the group".
