South Korea says it expects another North Korea intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) launch "on September 9", according to the country's Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon.

"Without political and diplomatic tools, it is very hard to shift the situation" on the Korean peninsula, Putin said.

Seoul, Sep 9 North Korea's state media marked the nation's founding anniversary today with calls for a nuclear arms buildup, in defiance of mounting global sanctions.

"A special measure is urgently needed to stop their recklessness", he added.

Protesters stage a rally against the deployment of an advanced USA missile defense system called Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense, or THAAD, near the presidential Blue House in Seoul, South Korea, Friday.

A THAAD battery normally consists of six launchers, but only two have been operational so far.

North Korea says it needs its weapons to protect itself from USA aggression and regularly threatens to destroy the United States.

Moon and Abe in their meeting agreed to cooperate on seeking tougher United Nations sanctions against North Korea and pledged to strengthen efforts to persuade Beijing and Moscow into cutting off oil supplies to the North, said Yoon Young-chan, Moon's chief press secretary.

The 29-nation US -led alliance expressed full solidarity with Japan and South Korea, North Korea's neighbors.

South Korean Marines wrapped up a three-day firing drill on Thursday aimed at protecting its islands just south of the border with North Korea, while the air force will finish up a week-long drill on Friday.

South Korea's Yonhap news agency quoted an unidentified government official as saying that the North could carry out a seventh nuclear test at its Punggye-ri test site at any moment.

The deployment was met with opposition from civic groups, and activists initially scuffled with police after midnight on Thursday, when the new equipment was brought in.

Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping committed on a phone call on Wednesday to "take further action with the goal of achieving the denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula", the White House said.

Russian Federation has also criticized the move.

U.S. President Donald Trump has said that all options are on the table when it comes to dealing with the rogue state, and although he would prefer not to use military action, it would be a "sad day" for North Korea if he did.

Some members of the ruling Democratic Party called to redeploy USA tactical nukes on Thursday, as President Moon Jae-in struggles to find common ground between China and Russian Federation concerning an oil embargo on the Pyongyang regime in response to its latest nuclear test.

President Moon had temporarily halted the installation of the missile defense system which began under the previous administration after taking office to conduct more environmental reviews and ease local residents' concerns. "Is it inevitable? Nothing is inevitable", Trump said on Thursday.

"If we work together, we can come up with a collective solution to the North Korean problem", Moon Chung-in said.
