Multiple people injured in shooting at Washington high school

Lockdown lifted at Washington school

In this school shooting there were plenty of warning signs about the shooter, according to a report by KXLY-TV in Spokane.

On Wednesday, the hallways of Washington State high school turned into the scene of a horrifying tragedy when 15-year-old Caleb Sharpe made a decision to bring his deranged obsessions with school shooting to fruition.

The school board has also approved adding additional security cameras throughout the inside and outside of school district building. They were in stable condition and surrounded by family, she said. The officer is armed, in uniform and works full time to support all the district's schools.

Senator Maria Cantwell tweeted, "Closely monitoring devastating news of the school shooting in Spokane County". Parents were later told that they could pick up their children from the elementary and middle school, but were instructed to wait at a bus barn to be reunited with their high school students as police conducted some 300 interviews with children who witnessed the incident. As shock turned to grief in the hours after the country's latest school shooting, they told of a honest young man with a penchant for joking around, even after burying his own father, who died in an accident - on Father's Day.

Some media reports include the identities of the students, but they have not been released by law enforcement at last report. Meanwhile dozens of schools in neighboring districts went into lockdown status.

Harper said the shooter had many friends and wasn't bullied, calling him "nice and amusing and weird".

Three other students were wounded in the shooting and remain hospitalized, KREM said.

Michael Harper, a 15-year-old sophomore, said the suspect had brought notes in the beginning of the school year, saying he was going to do "something stupid" and might get killed or jailed.

A two-lane road into the town of about 500 people near the Idaho border was clogged as anxious parents sped to the school.

A call to the school was not immediately returned.

She says classes were in regards to start since it's a "poor start" day.

"I was putting my backpack away and I heard a loud pop", Elisa Vigil, a freshman, told the newspaper.

“He called me and said, ‘Mom, there are gunshots. "You never think about something happening like this at a small school".

He ended up killing a classmate who confronted him and wounded three others before being stopped by a custodian, according to the sheriff's office.

A Washington state trooper called Wednesday the worst day of his career after he had to respond to an active shooter at his child's school.
