We do have a little better chance to see some scattered showers during the day. A warm front just to our north over the southern tier of NY early Saturday morning will continue to lift north today, keeping our area squarely in the warm sector for yet another day.
Nate will be making landfall along the central Gulf coast region early Sunday morning.
NEXT WEEK: Rain chances will continue Monday through Wednesday on the backside of "Nate". Chance of precipitation is 60 percent with accumulation of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
More rain appears likely Monday night and it could be locally heavy. Rain will be hard to find today, but isolated showers are possible for inland areas...closer to I-95.
Sunday Night: Partly cloudy - low around 59.
However, on the back side of Nate it is still going to feel rather warm and tropical with highs in the upper 80s to near 90 and feel like temperatures climbing into the upper 90s to near triple digits. There will be sunshine, warm weather and some much needed rain arriving Columbus Day. Widespread showers and some thunderstorms with low temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s. Dew point readings will be in the 60s to possibly near 70 degrees. Despite less sun, it will remain warm and humid with highs around 80. Nate will make landfall along the Gulf coast near Louisiana and MS as potentially a category #2 storm, but having very few effects on coastal Georgia and the Low Country.
Friday Night: Mainly clear. Otherwise skies will be mostly sunny and highs will be in the low-70s. This cold front will bring showers and perhaps strong winds to the region. High: Low-mid 70s.
Also, the ocean water cools the air above it, so we often get highs close to the ocean water temperature on days with an east wind.
