Indian soldiers killing five-six terrorists every day: Rajnath Singh
Inaugurating the headquarters of the NIA, an agency set up in the aftermath of 2008 Mumbai attacks to probe terror cases in the country, the home minister also said high quality fake currency notes act as "oxygen for terrorism". The agency has so far arrested 10 people, including Altaf Shah alias Fantoosh, son-in-law of pro-Pakistani separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, and influential businessman Zahoor Watali. Of these, 63 related to jihadi terror, 25 to terror acts by Northeast militants, 41 were cases of terror funding and counterfeit currency, 13 related to Naxal violence and the remaining 24 linked to miscellaneous terrorist acts or criminal gangs.
"The morale of such elements (terrorists and separatists) has been damaged due to the crackdown by the NIA", Rajnath claimed, adding that the Indian security forces took advantage of the fund crunch among the insurgents, launching a rigorous operation to eliminate them.
Rajnath Singh said investigating terrorist activities was a tough job. Without naming Pakistan, the Home Minister said the "neighbouring nation" used to pump fake currency into the state to maintain disturbance.
"Fake currency contributes to terror funding".

"The NIA has established its credibility and impartiality in the last eight years through professional and scientific investigation", he said.
NIA director general Sharad Kumar and his successor, Y C Modi, who will take over on his retirement on October 30, also spoke on the occasion.
