Pokemon Go Halloween event 2017 and Gen 3 boost

It turns out the dataminers were right, as Niantic has officially announced this month's Pokemon GO Halloween event. The rest of the Pokemon from Ruby and Sapphire are going to be in the game as early as December, so there is a lot of things fans have to look forward to. For starters, we'll be able to catch a special Halloween-themed Pikachu wearing a witch hat.

For more on Pokemon Go, read about my adventure flying 1,750 miles to catch a single Pokemon, plus some thoughts on the current state of the game, and for the full list of new Pokemon in Gen 3 available soon, check out the Pokemon Go Wiki. Pokemon Go's staggered rollout of generation three mirrors the way Niantic released generation two, adding seven baby Pokemon (and one evolution) in December 2016, followed by the almost complete release of generation two in early 2017. There'll be extra candy, a seasonal Pikachu, new clothes, and even generation 3 Pokemon!

These new Pokeman will be making their first-ever appearance in Pokemon Go, while others such as Gastly, Drowzee, Cubone, and other spooky Pokemon are back again this Halloween. So, that's two weeks of Halloween goodness in Pokemon GO. Every time you catch, hatch, or transfer Pokemon, you can expect to get twice the Candy.

Now for the coup de grâce. Sableye is one of the five new Ghost-Type Pokemon that was added to the game to celebrate the Halloween season. So, fellow trainers, get ready to head out and get spooked.
