Buyers can get the vehicle in lava orange, guards red, racing yellow, white, and Miami blue.
Continuing the puristic theme, drive is channeled through a standard seven-speed manual gearbox imbued with shorter ratios than the unit used by the 911 Carrera as well as a mechanical locking differential to the rear wheels.
The auto rides on a (usually optional) Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) chassis, with 20mm-lower suspension and the Sport Chrono package - also normally a cost option. The Sport Chrono Pack's driving mode switch on the steering wheel is fitted as standard, but not the trademark clock/lap-timer, Porsche spec-spotters will note. Porsche will also offer the same "full bucket" seats available on the GT3 as an option, another feature denied to buyers of other 911s.
The Porsche 911Carrera T costs from £85,576, with deliveries starting in January. It generates 370 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 339 lb. -ft. of torque from 1,750 rpm to 5,000 rpm. Reaching 60 mph takes 4.0 seconds using the standard launch control feature, Porsche says, although the top track speed is 180 mph instead of 182 mph like it is for the manual. Porsche claims a 0-62mph time of 4.5sec for the manual, 4.2sec if you order the dual-clutch automatic transmission. A sport exhaust system with black exhaust tips accents the various paint options, which include Lava Orange, Black, Guards Red, Racing Yellow, White, and Miami Blue, along with metallic colors Carrera White, Jet Black, and GT Silver.
Inside is quite refined with black sports seats with "911" stitched into the headrest, GT sports leather steering wheel and contrasting colour trim for the seats, seatbelts and door finish. The model, when on sale, starts from £85,576 in the United Kingdom, and deliveries start in January 2018. Regardless of which gearbox you go for, a top speed of over 180mph is claimed. Even the interior door handles have been replaced by loops of fabric and the standard car's Porsche Communication Management (PCM) infotainment system has been removed in the quest to strip unnecessary weight (although the latter can be added back in at no extra cost).
Celtics' Hayward likely done for season
Gordon Hayward suffered a horrific leg injury in the Celtics' season opener against the Cavaliers Wednesday (AEDT) in Cleveland. Gordon Hayward's first season with the Boston Celtics is probably over after five minutes of game action.
