Steelers' Martavis Bryant Wants Out: "Ya'll Can Have JuJu"

"I just want to be happy, whether it's here or it's somewhere else", Bryant told ESPN's Josina Anderson, via Facebook.

JuJu Smith-Schuster isn't having a great week. We've covered a lot of ground.

Bryant caught one ball for three yards during Sunday's 29-14 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

With a run-heavy offense and Antonio Brown on a historic pace once again, 10 targets per game might not be feasible.

The 25-year-old has successfully navigated the hard path back to the league, taking all the necessary off-the-field steps required to clear the numerous hurdles the league puts in place for repeat offenders of the substance abuse policy.

It wouldn't cost much to get him, and Kyle Shanahan is smart enough to use him efficiently. But we have, he's done a lot in the period of time that he's been here in terms of improving, not only as a player but as a man.

And, unlike last week, we're starting to think he could get his wish.

Tomlin plans to speak to Bryant in person on Wednesday.

So far, the Steelers are not interested in dealing Bryant. This week it's talking about how to rein in Bryant. He was set to return this year and was expected to be an integral part of the Steelers' offense moving forward, but the latter has not occurred.

It's worth noting that 2018 is not guaranteed in Bryant's contract, according to Over the Cap.

This Steelers team is good and has a chance to get back to the AFC championship.

That's not happening, Tomlin said emphatically and without provocation.

But all it takes is one general manager who'll overlook the risks - selfishness and one more slip-up from another National Football League exile - and see perhaps the game's most physically gifted receiver not named Julio Jones. But he says some things when he's not around us that are somewhat of a distraction.

"Im just going to sit down and talk to everybody and see what we can get clear on", Bryant said.

The Steelers, 5-2, will head to Detroit in Week 8 for a Sunday night matchup against the 3-3 Lions.

The Steelers could make Bryant inactive to prove a point, though it seems unlikely.

"JuJu's a little kid", Heyward said of the 20-year-old Smith-Schuster, who is the youngest player in the NFL. "In due time the process will show".
