GETTY Ander Herrera wants Manchester United to send a message against Tottenham

Ander Herrera

Despite beating Swansea in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, the fallout has rumbled on this week - talk dismissed by the United boss, who claims to have been impressed by Herrera's post-match interviews. The Spanish playmaker said that Huddersfield players were more passionate on the field which angered Jose Mourinho.

"Not I could have done better, but I should have done better, because he knows I can be better". We feel disappointed, we made a mistake and we conceded a goal and at that moment I felt the game was more on our side so it's a shame.

"To lose again, I think it is going to happen".

"But in terms of the attitude that we didn't like and knowing the players and knowing how good people they are, yes, I believe that was an isolated case".

22-year-old Shaw arrived at United from Southampton for a hefty £30 million fee in 2014, with many viewing the talented youngster as the natural heir to Patrice Evra at the club.

In the book "Brave New World" Pochettino alleges Mourinho had a lengthy conversation with Dier in the tunnel after United beat Spurs at Old Trafford in December last season.

I think both were trying to win but both knew that they opponent was strong.

Pochettino accused Mourinho of putting Dier "in a compromising position" but, speaking at a news conference ahead of Saturday's game, he insisted the affair had long since been put to bed.

"Maybe his ghost writer wants to make some money".

United may want to make some money on Marouane Fellaini if they can not agree a new deal.

The 27-year-old had established himself as one of the finest full-backs in the English top-flight over recent seasons, with his stellar showings before his injury last season having led to heavy links with Manchester United.

He, along with little-used former England full-back Luke Shaw, is out of contract at the end of the season.

Jose Mourinho was asked about Luke Shaw's future and had no interest, instead offering an opinion about the contract stand-off with Marouane Fellaini.
