WHATSAPPWhatsApp introduced the ability to make VOIP calls in its app last year
Keeping user privacy intact, WhatsApp stated that like all of its other messaging functions, location sharing will be end-to-end encrypted.
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp's group voice callsfeature should roll out before the group video calls option. "So group video calls are partially confirmed at the moment".
Of course, we all know that it's mostly preferable to call on wifi / 3G / 4G network, but given the connectivity variation in Nigeria, you can never be sure of the other person's internet connectivity.
This means that the beta testers will get the group calling feature in the next WhatsApp update.
As per WABetaInfo, the WhatsApp v2.17.70 beta for iPhone update comes with code references that point towards a group voice and video calling feature. Apple iOS 11 users are facing a ton of problems with the WhatsApp, latest being the delay in pushing the notification on the home screen.
Reports are also hinting that WhatsApp's much anticipated "unsend" feature will roll out soon!
WhatsApp also plans to bring the same functionality to its video call feature, it has been reported. You can choose to inform all or a selected few contacts from your contact list of the number change. This is what WABetaInfo had to say "The 2.17.70 update has very hidden references to group calls!" It added: "Note that these references we found are very strong (but they aren't visible for you at present) and they have allowed us to understand what WhatsApp is going to add in the application, as we did for WhatsApp for iPad". It is also expected that WhatsApp might roll out the Unsend and Delete for everyone feature in its next update.
The Facebook-owned messenger has introduced references to the feature in its latest beta, WaBetaInfo has revealed. If you've used the sharing feature before, you know we could already share locations before, except it was static. "The server finally works and it successfully recalls the message".
Last week, WhatsApp unveiled a new feature titled "Live Location" for its iOS and Android user base, enabling users to share their location with friends and family in real time.
