Bahrain will boycott all summits attended by Qatar: king

UPDATE 1-Bahrain calls for freezing Qatar out of GCC
"The new measures aim at preventing harming the security and stability of the kingdom of Bahrain particularly in light of the latest repercussions of the crisis with Qatar", said a statement from the official Bahraini news agency BNA.
The king's statement was the first of its kind to be issued by a Gulf leader since the ongoing crisis in inter-Arab relations - pitting Qatar against a five-nation Arab bloc led by Saudi Arabia - began five months ago.
It added: "Bahrain can not attend any summit or meeting attended by Qatar until the latter corrects its approach, returns to its senses and responds to the demands of those countries that have suffered [from its policies]".
Bahrain's King Hamad announced on Monday that the kingdom will not participate in the upcoming Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit in Kuwait in which Qatar will participate. Bahrain's visa requirements will apply from November 10.
Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt cut ties with Doha in June and enforced the blockade, accusing it of financing terrorism and supporting Iran.
The move came a day after a USA news broadcaster aired an interview with the emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in which he stressed he will not bow to pressure from the blockading countries. "We don't accept anybody interfering our sovereignty", Sheikh Tamim told United States television programme "60 Minutes".
"One thing that should be clear is that diplomatic solution is the only way to end the ongoing Gulf crisis and role of the USA would be crucial in this respect", Khanzada asserted while adding any military intervention would be catastrophic for the region.
