Rose McGowan says Harvey Weinstein raped her in a hotel room

Watch: Rose McGowan makes powerful speech in first public appearance since the Weinstein allegations

Rose McGowan makes first public remarks since accusing Harvey Weinstein of rape

Rose McGowanhas claimed that someone close to Harvey Weinstein offered her $1m to remain silent about her sexual assault allegations against the producer.

Actress Rose McGowan delivered an impassioned speech at the Women's Convention in Detroit on Friday, taking aim at President Trump for his now infamous "Access Hollywood" tape as well as Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, whom she has accused of sexual assault.

But "The Charmed" and "Scream" actress says she initially countered with her own offer for $6million!

Rose McGowan claims she was offered $1 million to keep her mouth shut about Harvey Weinstein.

She told her lawyer to pull the offer within a day of the story running.

'I figured I could probably have gotten him up to three.

He recalled meeting McGowan back in 2005, where she said she wish she could have been in Sin City. "But I was like - ew, gross, you're disgusting, I don't want your money, that would make me feel disgusting".

I want to thank you for being here, for giving me wings during this very hard time.

The convention grew out of the Women's March on Washington in January, reports CBS News correspondent Adriana Diaz.

McGowan did not say Weinstein's name outright, though she did say that seeing "the monster's face" so much in news reports recently was hard for her.

While she described to the Times the encounter that brought on the settlement, she declined to give too many details about what happened, other than to say her former manager, Jill Messick, told her to meet Weinstein at the restaurant in the Stein Eriksen Lodge at the festival for a 10 a.m. appointment.

Through representatives Weinstein has repeatedly denied allegations of rape, a spokesperson for Weinstein saying again Tuesday in a statement to ABC News, "Any allegations of nonconsensual sex are unequivocally denied by Mr. Weinstein". The reason she didn't audition, it turns out, was because she had been blacklisted from working on Weinstein movies.

"We are free. We are strong".

Just as I finished telling Rose this, I saw Harvey walking around the party! I have been harassed.

"And then what happened, happened", she said.

"I told the head of your studio that HW raped me", she wrote on Twitter a couple weeks back. I have been maligned, and you know what?
