Trump Jr.'s Halloween tweet about 'socialism'
02 November 2017, 12:22 | Rufus Hill
Hillary Clinton expressed an interest in dressing as'the president for Halloween. Trump Jr tweeted a response at her
No one besides President Donald Trump would ever accuse the Trump family of possessing a surplus of brainpower or class, but Donald Trump Jr. may have set new marks in both categories with his ultra-stupid and uber-classless Halloween lesson on "socialism".
Within hours, Trump Jr's tweet had generated over 50,000 replies, with many users pointing out that he wasn't describing socialism, but sharing - something most children are taught to do, said the Guardian.
"I'm going to take half of Chloe's candy tonight & give it to some kid who sat at home", he wrote.
It wasn't just Jr.'s failure to correctly spell "too", or the timing of his message (during Halloween evening trick-or-treating: a tradition of sharing across USA communities) that was widely panned. Firstly, isn't giving candy to other kids just sharing?
Clearly, people had a problem using children tot make political points, also Trump Jr. spelled "too" wrong while trying to teach a lesson, so there's that. Never too early to teach her about her grandfather's tax code. Maybe Trump just wanted the lion's share of his kid's Halloween candy for himself. What of the kids who may have loving parents but those parents are so busy working they don't have time to do the whole trick-or-treating thing?
He also managed to come up with a witty tweet regarding Hillary Clinton's Halloween costume choice.
Then there's Trump Jr.'s definition of socialism.
"My man, "socialism" was her getting that free candy in the first place".
It's not the first time Trump Jr has tried to use candies to make a political point.
