But more than just a transfer protocol between Android devices, it could potentially work for sending files from an Android device to a Chromebook and vice versa, especially now that Chromebooks run Android apps.
The description, as before, details its features - including its ability to help locate and delete spam and duplicate photos; support for offline file sharing; its file management utility; and its tool that recommends which of your rarely-used apps could be removed to help free up space on your phone.
Alongside the simple two-tab experience, the Files Go app has the integrated file transfer feature that allows you to send or receive files wirelessly. The app serves several key functions, including working as a storage manager to organize files and free up space.
However, this opinion has proved unpopular, as file managers are some of the most downloaded apps by category on the Play Store. You can't, for example, access the device's root folder or even copy and paste files.
Files Go also appears to be aimed at Android users in emerging markets and could be extra helpful on devices with limited local storage that are used in areas with patchy network coverage.
Files Go also acts as a file manager, with search tools for finding important documents.
The ad-purpose app was masked to seem like a new Whatsapp update and was one of the many fake Whatsapp versions on Google Play Store reported by users in recent days.
The second tab at the bottom, i.e., Files, shows all the files stored on your device. It will have an "clean cache" option too. The app lists nearby contacts. "For instance, you can choose to display only files from the camera, those that are screenshots, those from a chat application, and so on". The bad news, is that there is no official release date yet for it to hit Google Play Store. The page notes that the unreleased app may be unstable.
