Trump says he will never call N Korea leader 'short and fat'

In an effort to rally global pressure against North Korea's nuclear weapons program, Trump had said during his speech in South Korea on Tuesday, "Do not underestimate us".

US President Donald Trump talks to the media before he and first lady Melania Trump depart on Marine One on November 3, 2017 in Washington, DC.

"The weapons you are acquiring are not making you safer, they are putting your regime in grave danger", Trump said about North Korea during an address at South Korea's National Assembly in Seoul. "I don't know if it will but it would be very, very nice", he added.

President Trump said Saturday that he would never call North Korean leader Kim Jong Un "short and fat", after Kim's government slammed Trump as an "old lunatic" following a recent speech in neighboring South Korea. What to do with all of these missile tests?

In this undated photo distributed on September 16, 2017, by the North Korean government, leader Kim Jong Un, center, celebrates what was said to be the test launch of an intermediate range Hwasong-12 missile at an undisclosed location in North Korea. And do not try us.

Mr Trump called the claim an "artificial barrier" put up by Democrats and once again cast doubt on the conclusion from his own intelligence agencies that Russian Federation tried to interfere in the presidential poll to ensure Hillary Clinton was defeated.

Trump followed up his weird tweet by telling reporters that it would be a "good thing" for him and dictator to become friends.

"Every step you take down this dark path increases the peril you face".

Town told ABC News that if Pyongyang conducted a test during or following Trump's trip, it would likely be with a Hwasong-14, what the US refers to as the KN-20 - a two-stage intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).

In his tour of Asia, Trump has warned North Korea not to stretch USA patience, but also suggested the possibility of a diplomatic solution to the crisis.

North Korea is not known to have tested any of its missiles or nuclear devices since September 15, after a brisk series of tests earlier this year.

Asked about the possibility of becoming friends with the North Korean leader during a Sunday joint news conference in Vietnam, Trump did not rule it out. "I think we have to give it a couple of months, a few months, and then see what adjustments we might need to make".
