Hulu plans to make a Hitman television series with 'John Wick' creator
Perhaps the fun and action packed quality of the Die Hard films will shine through to the Hitman TV Series.
Fox 21 and Hulu are partnering for a new television series based on IO Interactive's Hitman video game series.
Hitman is a popular video game series starring the cool character of Agent 47.
According to Deadline, Kolstad will be writing the pilot script for Hitman, as well as executive producing alongside Adrian Askarieh and Chuck Gordon. The hopes are Hitman will become a flagship series for the streaming service. Film adaptations of Agent 47's adventures have often failed to figure this out, instead opting to give audiences loud gunfights and hand-to-hand melees.
Previously, there was a Hitman movie starring Timothy Olyphant, but it wasn't exactly the kind of film that inspired confidence in the Hitman fanbase. Io Interactive has already confirmed it's working on a new Hitman game, but recently said it doesn't plan to start talking about the project until sometime next year. We got two Hollywood movies in 2007 and 2015.
As reported by Deadline, a pilot script is now in the works for a Hitman series, with the intention of airing the series (should it get picked up from the pilot) on Hulu.
The franchise follows Agent 47, a genetically modified assassin who takes targets out in ridiculous fashion, often incorporating the environment into his kills.
Written by Derek Kolstad, John Wick: Chapter 3 is set for a May 13, 2019 release.
