PM Modi launches e-governance Umang app for citizen services

Prime Minister of India, Sri Narendra Modi launched the UMANG app for availing various government services.

Key Benefits for Citizens: - Single-Point Ubiquitous Access: All government services are available for citizens on a unified platform for easy access through multiple online and offline channels (SMS, email, app, and web). As said earlier, the application now has over 100 services from central and state government.

The app has a live chat feature, where users can ask anything.

The availability of the app in 12 regional languages in addition to english makes the app user friendly and relevant to tier II, III cities and the rural areas, thus widening the scope and exposure of the app, SpiceDigital said.

The app aims at integrating governance-related services like Aadhaar, DigiLocker, Rapid Assessment System and Bharat Bill Payment System.

The app offers 162 different services from 33 state and central government departments and four states. The app also allows the users to discover, download, access and use all government services easily in one place all from the comfort of you mobile phone. A user signing up on the app has to digitally complete KYC and link Aadhaar where required. It incorporates NPS, Aadhaar, Insurance, grants, human services, women empowerment, Passport Seva, e-District, EPFO and others.

The UMANG app will expand its usability in the coming days and the users will be able to link their Aadhaar cards in order to avail full benefits of the application. You can also download the app directly to Android from Play Store here, for iOS here, and for Windows Phone here. It is entirely free of cost.
