The Miss Universe 2017 title was awarded to South Africa's Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, the second time the nation won the title after winning in 1978.

Fans of the pageant submitted the questions that the final five contestants were asked during the competition.

The runner-up was Miss Colombia Laura Gonzalez, while the second runner-up was Miss Jamaica Davina Bennett. Demi has taken home a very handsome salary, a luxury apartment in NY and many more goodies.

She is from Sedgefield in the Western Cape.

The coronation of the 66th Miss Universe has been completed successfully.
