Trump and Time magazine dispute Person of the Year plans

Donald Trump claims Time Magazine told him he was 'probably' going to be Man of the Year, but he rejected it

The US President took to twitter to say that the magazine had told him the would “probably” be selected as Person of the Year

US President Donald Trump said TIME magazine rang him up to say he would "probably" be named Person on the Year.

US President Donald Trump on Saturday claimed that he turned down an offer to become TIME's "Person of the Year", after the magazine told him he "probably" would be selected "like last year".

"The President is incorrect about how we choose Person of the Year".

However, the publication turned down the President's claims, saying the award victor will only be declared on December 6. A public "Person of the Year" poll is also taken into account. In 2015, Mr. Trump tweeted that he was a "big favorite" for Time's Person of the Year, but the magazine "would never pick me".

"Amazing. Not a speck of truth here - Trump tweets he "took a pass" at being named TIME's person of the year", Murray tweeted. "The mag frequently includes photo spreads and interviews with several "finalist" type people, not just the person".

"The #MuellerInvestigation just called and said you were PROBABLY going to be named Soap Monitor on your wing and would have to agree to an interview and a perp picture with your combover shaved off", Isaacs tweeted. Quoting Trump's tweet Stengel, Stengel asserted,"They just wanted a photo shoot".

Time magazine also disputed Trump's claim, tweeting that Trump was "incorrect" and that the editorial staff "does not comment on our choice until publication".

Actress Patricia Arquette suggested Trump "can always print yourself another fake cover".

President Trump shouldn't fret; he'll be on many more Time covers.

Trump claimed on Twitter on Friday that he had taken himself out of consideration after he refused to meet the magazine's "requirements" for an interview and photo shoot without being guaranteed the title.

You can always print yourself another fake cover.
