Now, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL users have started complaining about their headphone adaptors. Following user reports of problems with the OLED display, odd effects when taking photos of LED lights, seemingly muted microphones, a mysterious buzzing noise, random reboots, and crashes in Android Auto mode, it has been a tumultuous time for Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL owners.

Users are now reporting on the Google Pixel Community forum that the USB Type-C to 3.5mm headphone adapter is not working on their devices.

The second-generation Pixel phones have seen a flurry of complaints, with users flagging problems with the OLED display, unusual effects when clicking the picture, muted microphones, a mysterious buzzing noise, random reboots, and crashes in Android Auto mode. So instead of playing music through headphones, the phones are continuing to play it through the speakers as though nothing is plugged in.

But no, Google Home and the Pixel 2 both use the same, "Okay, Google" command. "Am I missing something here?" said one of the user. From the screen burn-in issue to a clicking sound in the display and audio crashing in portrait mode, the release of the Pixel 2 duo has been filled with controversies related to quality issues. Some users say that rebooting the Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL will temporarily fix the issue, as pointed out by Android Police. To do this, users will have to go to Settings System About phone and tap on the build number of the Android software version seven times. Recently the Pixel 2 was reported to have a slow fingerprint sensor after the Android 8.1 update. It seems the delay is about a second long on average, but even a second-long delay can feel like ages when you're frequently unlocking your phone. One of the users mentions that he has tried three different dongles and the problem is still present.

Given the reliability of a tried and true technology like the 3.5mm headphone jack, having the USB-C replacement not work is understandably frustrating.

Google is now rolling out a "Hey, Google" option for Assistant, which should, theoretically, fix this issue.
