A Series of Unfortunate Events season 2: First trailer and premiere date revealed for Netflix show
"But those are the same people who wouldn't recognize handsome if it set your house on fire".
After debuting in 2017, Netflix has revealed that the second helping of the Lemony Snicket adaptation will be released on March 30, and the first trailer has promised that there's plenty more unpleasantness on the way.
The official Twitter page for A Series of Unfortunate Events posted the cryptic tweet above on New Year's Day.
Based on the internationally bestselling series of books by Lemony Snicket (aka Handler), the series recounts the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans - Violet, Klaus, and Sunny - whose evil uncle Count Olaf will stop at nothing to get his hands on their inheritance. The last show's star, Neil Patrick Harris, knows the importance of making a memorable impression and the difficulty of breaking through in a crowded environment. "Just wait until March 30th". Not much of the plot can be discerned from the new footage (it's just the trio being chased by unruly mobs and villains, what's new?), but the new scenes seem to be very much in line with the hyper-stylized visual language that the first season developed and perfected.
Since the first season covered the first four books with each book given 2 episodes, I'm guessing this upcoming season, which has listed ten episodes, will cover the next five books; those being, The Austere Academy, The Ersatz Elevator, The Vile Village, The Hostile Hospital, and The Carnivorous Carnival.
