Sony Xperia XA2, XA2 Ultra and L2 revealed in official renders
Despite the lack of truly blockbuster smartphone sales, Sony has fostered a dedicated and loyal following with its Xperia line-up.
Depicted are both the smaller-sized Xperia XZ2 and the larger Xperia XZ2 Ultra. The top and bottom speakers out front are also visible as are the volume controls plus the power button on the right, Sony may have skipped the fingerprint sensor, which was earlier seen on the power button.
As far as the Sony Xperia L2 is concerned, it will be a more budget-centric device with a 5.2-inch HD display that will also have a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.
The Xperia XA2 is listed on GFXBench with a 21MP rear-facing primary camera with support for shooting 4K-resolution videos.
The XperiaXA2 Ultra is likely to have the product code H32XX and come with a 6-inch Full HD (1920X1080) display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC and 4GB of RAM.
Meanwhile, the Xperia XA2 (pictured just above) will have a 5.2-inch 1080p HD display, the same Snapdragon 630 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of built-in storage. A 7MP front-facing camera is also in tow. Apparently, only the XA2 and XA2 Ultra will run Android 8 Oreo out of the box, while the Xperia L2 is expected to be launched with Android 7 Nougat on board. If the leak is based on confirmed visuals of the phones this pans out for the rumor; if the leak is based on a presumed assumption of what the final devices will look like based on the rumors, however, then it's anyone's guess until more evidence comes out.
The design of all of these handsets closely resembles what Sony's been putting out in the past few years, so it looks like the Japanese company is only planning to use 18:9 screens and minuscule bezels on its flagships in 2018.
Sony has been criticised for not upgrading the design on its smartphones and a new leak of its 2018 lineup in the entry-level and mid-range segment suggests the criticism has gone unheard.
