Johnson, who was 28 at the time, said she visited Moore's office with her mother, who had hired Moore in a custody case involving Johnson's 12-year-old son.
AL.com reports that Johnson's neighbors noticed a suspicious man walking around the house on Tuesday before it caught on fire. The man reportedly approached a second neighbor and asked her if she thought the Johnson house was going to burn. "We have just the clothes on our backs".
During the special election campaign past year, Tina Johnson accused Moore of grabbing her backside in his office in the early 1990s.
"I was so humiliated and sickened", she said.
Police have not released the name of the man they believe may have been involved but he is not through to have been motivated by Johnson's remarks about Moore.
"I got up there", Tallant said, "and [the fire] was already pretty well started".
"I like people like that", he said.
Johnson and her family are living in a motel while their friends and neighbors help them recover from the blaze. The neighbor didn't know what he was talking about, she said, because flames weren't visible at the time.
"My neighbors are just heartbroken, too", she said.
