"We don't think that there was a conflict at all", Sanders said.

White House counsel Don McGahn and National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster are weighing leaving the Trump administration as aides have been told to make a decision on whether they intend to leave or stay through the November elections by the end of January, CNN reports.

On Thursday morning, Trump sent out several tweets, including attacks on Democrats and Hillary Clinton, as well as his opposition to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance (FISA) which he believes led to the release of the now infamous "pee tape" dossier.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was not having it when CNN's Jim Acosta continuously pressed her on President Trump's potential future immigration policies during Tuesday's press briefing. "The President fully supports the 702 and was happy to see that it passed the House today". Acosta has covered the White House for CNN since 2013.

But less than two hours later, Trump - following a lengthy phone call with House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) - walked it back with a second tweet in which he indicated that he does in fact favor reauthorization. The president, she said, has been following the topic and "wanted to put something out".

Trump was referring to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, which lets spy agencies collect information on foreign targets overseas.

Trump's concerns on the legislation, though, appeared unrelated to the argument made by civil libertarians in the lead-up to the vote.

Sources close to the West Wing told CNN that the Trump administration is finding it hard to fill vacancies as the Russian Federation probe focuses on close Trump aides and the president's popularity plummets in the polls.

Acosta has always been pegged as one of Trump's least favorite journalists at his least favorite network. On Wednesday, the White House issued a statement opposing changes to the program.
