How to Stream the 2018 State of the Union Address Online

Rep. Joe Kennedy III to give Democratic response after State of the Union

U.S. Congressman Joe Kennedy III stands next to a poster of a stamp of featuring his great-uncle U.S. President John F. Kennedy during ceremonies on the 100th anniversary of the birth of President Kennedy outside the home where he was born in Brookline

President Trump has pledged to rebuild the nation's aging infrastructure, but has provided few details on his $1.7 trillion plan.

With its bumper-sticker-ready theme of "building a safe, strong and proud America", the address is expected to resemble the vision of a "renewal of the American spirit" that Trump offered in his well-received speech to a joint-session of Congress last February.

The speech will attempt to show that the American people had every right to be optimistic when Trump took office previous year.

With regard to trade, Trump is expected to restate the points he made Friday during his trip to Davos, Switzerland, in which he urged foreign countries to invest in America and expressed a desire to negotiate "mutually beneficial" trade agreements. She did not skip former President George W. Bush's State of the Union speeches.

MA congressman Joseph Kennedy III will deliver the Democratic response to President Donald Trump's upcoming State of the Union address, Kennedy's staff confirmed Thursday night.

The White House will use the annual guests in the first lady's box to spotlight individuals who have "benefited" from the Republican tax overhaul law and "faces" of the opioid crisis, a second administration official said. Developments in the special counsel probe into Russia's meddling in the 2016 election also often overshadow his plans.

On national security, the senior administration official gave no indication there would be new policy announced, but the president will reiterate positions on North Korea and Iran and his intention to rebuild the military.

"The president's tone will be one of bipartisan in respect to Congress", said a White House senior administrator.

The major party in opposition traditionally broadcasts a rebuttal speech following the US president's annual State of the Union address, which is delivered to a joint session of Congress and sums up achievements and goals. "Take three or four or five days and bask in the glory".
