Melania Trump: Jet-setter on the taxpayer dime

Melania Trump enters House chamber

First Lady Melania Trump was reportedly blindsided by the bombshell report that President Donald Trump's lawyer previously arranged a payment to Stephanie Clifford, a porn star who goes by the stage name "Stormy Daniels", to keep her from publicly disclosing an alleged sexual encounter with Donald Trump.

After skipping the Davos forum, she visited the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., before heading to Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Fla., on Thursday.

Mrs. Trump and the president have had a tumultuous relationship at times over the years, but few episodes have roiled the peace as much as the news surrounding Ms. Daniels.

Earlier this month a report by The Wall Street Journal revealed that Trump's longtime attorney paid Daniels $130,000 ahead of the 2016 presidential election to keep quiet about an alleged affair between Trump and the porn star. She reportedly visited the spa, then quickly left on Friday, right before a fundraiser was to be held there.

According to the New York Times, the news of the alleged affair and payoff had left Melania "furious" with her husband, which was why she made a decision to keep a low profile.

The first lady's aides told the Times that she has been focusing on her "role and her family". She documented the trip on her social media profiles.

Many outlets have speculated on the first lady's actions over the past week, attributing them in some way to the report about Trump and Daniels.

Before he became President, Donald Trump frequently attacked President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama, including for trips the First Lady took.

Washington (CNN)First lady Melania Trump is poised to make her first public appearance in weeks on Tuesday evening, riding by motorcade from the White House to the Capitol, where she will attend her husband's State of the Union address.

The clips have gone viral, now a friend has stated that the First Lady isn't happy in her new life.

But Melania's spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, dismissed reports about tension in the Trumps' marriage as gossip, tweeting on January 26 that the stories are "unrealistic scenarios being peddled daily by the fake news".
