Alongside these models, Samsung will release the Oreo update to the newly released smartphones- the Galaxy A8 (2018), the Galaxy A8+ (2018). After several leaks about processor and screen details, and renders showing the handset's design, a new report now talks about the handset's battery capacity.

For example, there's the "astarqlte" which, it's suggested, is the Snapdragon version of the as-yet-unannounced Samsung Galaxy S9 Active. The picture of the cat illustrates depth-of-field and how well the Galaxy S9's camera can preserve quality from front to back. However, the phones internally codenamed as "star" and "star2" aren't the only thing Samsung's engineers have been cooking up.

Credit: Weibo/BGRA leaker at China's Weibo, which was earlier reported on by BGR, has published three images of what could be the official press photos to promote the Galaxy S9's camera quality. Notably, Samsung's invitation for the launch event has the number "9" on it as well.

The list also includes the code-name crown, which is obviously the upcoming Galaxy Note 9. XDA Developers couldn't decipher the normal names of many of these phones, one of which could be the foldable Galaxy X. Last month, Samsung wrapped up an Android Oreo beta program for the Galaxy S8.

And it doesn't necessarily mean that we won't get more life out of the S9 and S9 Plus, as the chipsets and software may well be more efficient. Spotted by GSM Arena, the listing reveals dual SIM variant for Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ in Europe. Based on the build configuration, it may confirm the previous leaks where the fingerprint scanner is set to be located below the camera module.

One small but important upgrade on this year's smartphones from Samsung will change the rear fingerprint sensor's position.
