Ayodhya Supreme court to hear Ram Janmabhoomi Babri Masjid conflict

In the meeting, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Muslim Personal Law Board executive member Maulana Syed Salman Hussain Nadvi, Uttar Pradesh Sunni Waqf Board chairperson Zufar Ahmad Farooqui Maulana Wasif Hasan of Teelay Wali Masjid in Lucknow and other retired IAS officers were present along with Centre for Objective Research and Development (CORD) director Athar Husain Siddiqui. "The RSS should also make public the names of its members with whom the spokesperson of the Muslim personal law board has close relations", he said.

Speaking to reports Nadvi had said that the formula he proposed will ensure peace and communal harmony.

As per the source, the board issued a statement after the Friday meeting, to rule out a compromise on the land in Ayodhya.

On February 9, Maulana Salman Husaini Nadv spoke to about his meeting with Sri Sri Ravi Shankar where he extended support for the construction of Ram temple and said that their priority is to join hearts of people.

Hearing the case, the Supreme Court made it clear that it would deal with the case as a "pure land dispute". "We believe in our judiciary system", said a member of Board executive.

Previous year in November, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar grabbed headlines when he visited Lucknow and Ayodhya to mediate between Muslim and Hindu stakeholders in the long-pending dispute. It also said it will abide by the Supreme Court order, which is presently hearing the case.

Members of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) on Saturday rejected media speculation of there being differences among them in the wake of Maulana Salman Nadvi's statement that he supported the construction of Ram Mandir at the disputed site in Ayodhya and favoured an out of court settlement on the issue.

The Supreme Court was likely to start "final hearings" on a bunch of 13 petitions over the 2.7 acres disputed Ayodhya site that is claimed by both Hindus and Muslims.

"A three-judge bench of the Allahabad High Court had ordered in 2010 that the land be partitioned equally among three parties €" the Sunni Waqf Board, the Nirmohi Akhara and Ram Lalla.

Regarding the contentious Babri Masjid issue, he elaborated on the legal battle in the apex court.

Art of Living (AOL) founder and spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar once again tried to resolve the Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi dispute in Ayodhya through his mediation talks.

"We will never withdraw our claim to the land in Ayodhya where once the Babri mosque stood and was demolished on 6 December, 1992". The country witnessed massive riots in which over 2000 people were killed. "It is a mosque and wherever a mosque is built will remains a mosque till Qayamt" AIMPLB said in a strongly worded statement.
