Dad who lunged at Nassar announces plans for donations

Funds Raised For Dad Who Lunged At Larry Nassar Will Go To Charity

USA Gymnastics has established a fund it says is created to assist gymnasts who were victims of disgraced former sports doctor Larry Nassar.

Nassar, the former USA Gymnastics and Michigan State University doctor, was recently convicted of molesting more than 200 underage female gymnasts under the guise of medical care over the course of the last two decades.

"One of the most disturbing aspects of the survivors' accounts is how this reprehensible conduct went undetected or ignored for years".

Raisman said she was unaware what action if any Geddert took after the conversation.

Nassar has been sentenced to a grand total of 140 to 360 years in prison on sexual assault and child pornography charges.

The Eaton County Sheriff's Office said people had made complaints against John Geddert, without providing details.

- The man who lunged at convicted sex abuser Larry Nassar after asking for a few minutes alone in a room with him says if you donated to a defense fund set up for him, he's returning the money or donating to charity. "Coaches, instructors, law enforcement, and other trusted adults all failed these young athletes".

In later years she even referred other athletes to him. This includes the board of directors of U.S.A. Gymnastics and the Michigan State president and athletic director.

Twistars was run by former USA Gymnastics coach John Geddert, who coached the team to gold at the 2012 London games.

Aly Raisman claimed John Geddert knew of Larry Nassar's abuse for years. He resigned from USA Gymnastics last month after they suspended him due to his role in an internal probe. After that he would theoretically be transferred to the Michigan Department of Corrections to serve sentences on the state crimes, but he would need to make it to over 100 years old for that to happen. The federation will draw from techniques available in the International Olympic Committee's toolkit on protecting athletes from harassment and abuse in sport. "It means telling coaches that physical and emotional abuse of any gymnast is not O.K".

She watched each woman's testimony to get a sense of their personalities - a defiant look, a smile at loved ones, or a smirk at the fact that they would be leaving the courtroom, while Nassar would most likely die in prison. Mukherji oversees the MSU health team, which includes the sports clinic where Nassar worked.
