EA announced today that Criterion's classic open-world racer is coming to PS4 and Xbox One in March as Burnout Paradise Remastered.

Before yesterday's official announcement, rumors stated that Burnout Paradise Remastered would also release on Nintendo Switch.

'When people think of Criterion Games, they often remember the Burnout franchise and for good reason.

It has been many years since Criterion moved on from the Burnout series.

Stellar Entertainment are handling the port, but who are they?

As per our original review from way back in 2008 we noted, "Burnout Paradise is the most fun we've had in an arcade racing game since multiplayer Daytona USA in the arcades".

The listing still shows that there will be in-game purchases, but will likely be corrected soon following Walke's clarification.

Burnout Paradise Remastered will also be available on the PC through Origin later this year, no set release date has been announced yet.

A spokesperson for the publisher made it known through the Polygon's pages that there is now nothing to announce regarding the arrival of Burnout Paradise on the Nintendo Switch.

Electronic Arts has been cautious in its approach to the Switch, with commitment limited to a stripped back edition of Federation Internationale de Football Association 18, and the EA Originals release of Fe. EA Access members will also get to play Burnout Paradise Remastered before its worldwide launch, starting on March 9th, 2018 via the Play First Trial. The remaster will include all eight pieces of DLC, including the Big Surf Island update.

Though Remastered includes every major piece of DLC for the game, it does not feature the original Time Savers pack, a two dollar purchase which unlocked nearly every vehicle in the game - but it seems that's no longer an option.
