Was kicked out Russia after exposing corruption and says Putin wants him dead

Earlier this month, in his speech to the Federal Assembly Russian President Vladimir Putin unveiled the most advanced systems of strategic weapons, being developed in response to Washington's unilateral withdrawal from the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty (ABM Treaty) and practical deployment of the ABM shield both inside the U.S. and outside its borders.

He described Trump, whom he met with previous year on the sidelines of summits in Germany and Vietnam, a "balanced" man who grasps the issues and is a good listener.

Russian leader Vladimir Putin praised U.S. President Donald Trump as a "balanced" man he can negotiate with, but he also assailed the West for "illegitimate and unfair" Ukraine-related sanctions imposed on Moscow.

Moscow's hopes for better ties with Washington have been dashed by allegations of collusion between Trump's campaign and Russian Federation.

"The decision to use nuclear weapons can only be made if our early warning system not only detects a missile launch but clearly forecasts its flight path and the time when warheads reach the Russian territory", Putin said in the interview.

"Russia will be actively developing military-technical cooperation with all interested countries, including in most high-tech segments - on those armaments for aviation, air defense, land troops and the Navy that have demonstrated their utmost efficiency during the Syrian operation", Putin added.

The former KGB agent promised he hadn't tried to "turn" Melania Trump, "no, I stopped doing that a long time ago".

"The idea of import substitution itself is not universal and is not what we should strive for eventually", Putin said, noting that import substitution should not undermine competition.

James and Ash said that, for all the condemnation and outrage against Putin, it's hard to see what can be done to Russian Federation.

He added that there is a little chance of Britain getting involved in what James described as a "shooting war" with Russian Federation, provided we "invest properly in defence". "There was no word, conversely, there was the complete support of those who committed the coup d'├ętat", Putin claimed.

Responding to a question about Russia's growing global leverage, Putin responded: "If we play strongly with weak cards, it means the others are just poor players, they aren't as strong as it seemed, they must be lacking something".
