CNBC Says Larry Kudlow "Has No Plans to Leave" Amid White House Speculation

White House chief economic adviser Gary Cohn right and chief of staff John Kelly return to the White House Feb. 1 2018 in Washington D.C

The Washington Post reported last week that Trump plans to visit the San Diego area to view the eight, 30-foot-tall border wall prototypes that have erected in Otay Mesa.

News that the president would accept a meeting never taken by a sitting US president came from an unlikely source Thursday evening: a last-minute press statement by a South Korean official standing in the dark on the White House driveway.

"We're going to have sensible relations with our allies", he told CNBC, claiming that Mr Trump's policy was well "thought through.

Frankly it's a disgrace, the sanctuary city situation, the protection of these frightful criminals", Trump said last month. Trump's actions are unlikely to save jobs in either steel or aluminum, surely not in the long run, and they will cost jobs in all the companies that use either product in manufacturing goods.

Former Carter Holt Harvey chief executive Chris Liddell is being considered by the president for the role of director of the National Economic Council, according to a report in the New York Times which has been picked up by other media.

During a White House press briefing on Wednesday, Press Secretary Sarah Sanders hinted at Cohn's reappearance in another capacity. Trade adviser Peter Navarro, once barred from sending private emails and spotted skulking in West Wing hallways, has abruptly emerged from the chaos ascendant. "When he says 'why do we have had people from shithole countries, Africa and Haiti coming here to United States of America why can't they be from Norway?' let me see, some people are black other people are white - that's racist", Gutiérrez told the paper.

Cohn, a former Goldman Sachs president, resigned Tuesday after losing his fight against stiff tariffs on steel and aluminum.

Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee Orrin Hatch, a Republican from Utah, has expressed his opposition to the Trump tariffs.

Cohn is the latest in a series of high-profile departures from the Trump administration. "He's not quite as strong on those tariffs".

President Donald Trump arrives with Director of the National Economic Council Gary Cohn at the U.S. Capitol to meet with House Republicans ahead of their vote on the "Tax Cuts and Jobs Act" in Washington, on November 16, 2017.

A senior administration official said those exemptions, however, could come at a price to other countries.

But even if Trump agrees to compromise on his current tariff plans, it will still leave a problematic situation for Asia. They could also try to pass a veto-proof bill to block the tariffs from going into effect, although getting two-thirds support in both the House and Senate could prove very hard. So initially, what was meant to be an hour-long meeting ended after about forty-five minutes, and Chung Eui-yong and Suh Hoon headed to the Oval Office to meet with President Trump at 4:15.
