1 to 2 inches of snow expected in FM Sunday

Mountains valleys will see rain this evening change over to snow tonight as temperatures drop. This could trigger additional isolated showers, particularly Tuesday morning. That surprises me - I had expected the Early Girl to sprint ahead of the others. Our in-house forecast model does indicate a slight chance of a mountaintop flurry, otherwise, we are dry overnight. For western Kentucky, these showers will be mostly rain, but southeast IL and southwest IN may see some snow mixed IN. Light and variable wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 miles per hour in the afternoon.

Sunday: Morning sun, with afternoon clouds. Carbon and Lehigh counties are under an enhanced threat for fire spread due to the dry air and winds expected to gust up to 25 miles per hour. The previous lowest high temperature was 22, recorded in 2007.

Wednesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 37. It'll be wet and heavy so it'll mostly cause for some wet roads and few slick spots since temperatures will be hovering near or below freezing.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 52.

We will get near the 70 degree mark by Thursday with lots of sunshine.

Similar to last week, Friday afternoon and evening thunderstorms are looking like a strong possibility as an upper level low pushes a cold front through the ArkLaTex.

Friday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 42.
