Conor Mc Gregor leaves New York police station in handcuffs after bus incident
Mixed martial arts fighterConor McGregor was freed by a NY judge on $50‚000 bail on Friday after being charged with assault for his part in a melee at a media event to publicize a series of UFCfights at a Brooklyn arena.
The intense video shot from inside a bus carrying fighters for Saturday's UFC 223 event showed McGregor hurling a hand truck at the windows.
Conor Mcgregor is seen leaving the 78th Precinct in Brooklyn on April 6, 2018 in New York City.
Some might say that McGregor's antics ultimately are good for the UFC, as bad press sometimes is good press in the combat sports world.
"What the f-", Chiesa said.
McGregor, who wasn't on the UFC 223 card, is accused of three counts of criminal mischief, two counts of assault, one count of attempted assault, five counts of menacing and one count of reckless of endangerment, a court document says.
The judge also granted a request to allow to the Irish-born McGregor to travel outside the United States before his next court appearance on June 14.
McGregor spent Thursday night in a Brooklyn police station, after surrendering, and was escorted to a criminal court in handcuffs.
White also said that the attack "was the last stunt on Earth we would ever pull".
McGregor, no stranger to WWE-type promotion skills, was fined in Nevada for throwing filled energy drink cans at 2016 opponent Nate Diaz at a news conference, and his sharp wit and crass talk helped make his novelty boxing loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. a year ago the second-most lucrative combat sporting event of all time. "Do you want to be in business with Conor McGregor right now?"
The ugly scenes were condemned by UFC president Dana White, who labelled them "one of the most disgusting things that's happened in the history of the company".
McGregor and his entourage allegedly stormed the Barclay's Centre in Brooklyn ahead of UFC223 where Khabib Nurmagomedov was due to fight Max Holloway (that fight has since changed as Holloway failed to make weight).
Bail for Cian Cowley, also involved in the alleged incident, was set at $25,000.
Many were disappointed, including, of course, the UFC president himself, Dana White, who revealed that they were set to announce McGregor's next fight, which was to be against Rafael Dos Anjos for the interim UFC welterweight belt.
The fracas appeared to be related to the Ultimate Fighting Championship's decision to strip McGregor of his title. He goes on to add that the commission do not recognise this as a title fight, but if Iaquinta was to win... they would award him the lightweight title.
