Last Friday, she released her debut album, Invasion of Privacy.
Cardi says the pressure has made music start to feel like a job. "But then I didn't want to deal with the whole abortion thing".
Following the show, Cardi said, "I'm finally free!" and many of her fans, as well as other celebrities, celebrated not only her pregnancy, but her album on social media. We can only imagine how scary it was when the rapper first realized she was pregnant.
After being released for only one day, Buzzfeed announced "Invasion of Privacy" was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.
After making some jabs at Trump, Cardi sat down with Jimmy and explained how she is hungrier to succeed now more than ever, crediting her unborn baby as the driving force of her hard work. "It's an investment, you gotta take that, but it's like, 'Dammit, right after I just finished paying my damn taxes!'"
She shared: "When I was a stripper, I didn't give a f**k about gangs, because I was so focused on making money". "I'm a schmillionaire. I'm prepared for this".
You'd think being in a gang would be the worst story Cardi would have to tell, but you'd be wrong. "You always been Like a second mom to me so I know u gonna be the best mommy everrrr. you took care of me like i was ur own daughter I know how much you LOVE babies", she wrote alongside a pic of the two women. "I don't want the negative energy on my baby".
On Saturday, she confirmed her pregnancy with fiance Offset during a nationally televised performance. "No, it wasn't planned", she said with a laugh.
The "Bodak Yellow" artist said that even people in her inner circle weren't necessarily on board with her pregnancy. "I got three nieces - Amor, Malia, and Leah".
"Why can't I have both?" Basically because Coachella lucked out by having to book her over six months ago, when she wasn't quite as big of a draw as she is now. She's also slated to join Bruno Mars on tour in September. Clearly Cardi is killing it.
"I have to prove [to] people that a baby won't stop me ..." So far, so good!
