Trump: US, France, Britain launch strikes on Syria
Earlier this month, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced he had signed a deal with the United Nations to resettle thousands of African asylum-seekers in the West on the condition Israel granted an equal number of migrants temporary residency status.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the USA for the joint missile strikes it carried out with the United Kingdom and France that targeted three chemical weapons facilities in Syria.
"Trump's resolve and Israel's support remain unchanged", Netanyahu said.
Iran warned of "regional consequences" on Saturday following a wave of punitive strikes in Syria by the United States, Britain and France.
"The American attack is an important signal to the axis of evil - Iran, Syria and Hezbollah", Gallant said.
"I added that this policy needs to also be expressed in preventing terrorist states and groups from having nuclear abilities", he added.
Netanyahu warned that the Syrian government is endangering itself by giving Iran and its proxies a "forward base".
It should be clear to Assad that his reckless efforts to acquire and use weapons of mass destruction, his disregard for worldwide law and his provision of a base for Iran and its proxies endanger Syria, said Netanyahu.
"This aggression is created to compensate for the defeat of the terrorists" in Eastern Ghouta, an area recently recaptured by Syrian government forces, Iran's foreign ministry said. Israel has not commented on the attack.
"Israel fully supports (U.S.) President Trump's decision to act against the use of chemical weapons in Syria, and Israel welcomes the joining of British Prime Minister Theresa May and French President Emmanuel Macaron in this action", Netanyahu told his ministers during the weekly cabinet meeting.
The statement also accused Syria of providing military bases for Iran, putting its "territory, forces and leadership in danger". The armed Iranian-backed Shi'ite movement Hezbollah, which has an extensive missile arsenal, last fought a war with Israel in 2006.
