U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has warned against any further escalation after the U.S., U.K., and France jointly launched airstrikes targeting the Assad regime's alleged chemical weapons capabilities in Syria.
The USA, France and Britain presented a new draft resolution on the investigation of chemical attacks in Syria in the UN Security Council, as AFP reported.
However, early on Friday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Russia-US tensions over Syria appeared to be easing.
"It seems that with the latest developments, the atmosphere has eased somewhat", Erdogan told reporters in Istanbul.
"We hope that there will be no point of no return - that the U.S. and their allies will refrain from military action against a sovereign state", Mr Nebenzia said.
The OPCW said the investigators would start work on Saturday (local time).
The United States is consulting with Britain and France about a joint military response to an alleged toxic gas attack in the rebel-held town of Douma that medics and rescuers said left at least 40 people dead on Saturday.
Albania's Foreign Ministry said Le Drian canceled a trip there planned Friday "due to global developments in the security field".
Russian Federation has said it deployed military police in Douma on Thursday after the town was taken over by Syrian government forces. Syria's government denies responsibility.
Yildirim on Friday again condemned the "heinous" the attack in Douma and said the perpetrators should "pay a price".
"If UK, France, Germany & others stay silent as Syria assumes presidency of UN's Conference on Disarmament-the body which produced the treaty against chemical weapons-this will make a mockery of everything they said this week", Neuer tweeted.

The Swedish-drafted text calls for the establishment of an investigative panel to identify the perpetrators of chemical weapons use in Syria after Russian Federation this week vetoed a U.S. proposal to set up such a mechanism.

Moscow's efforts to win Security Council condemnation of the strikes in a resolution overwhelmingly failed.
